About Islamic Information Society of Calgary (IISC)

​Islamic Information Society of Calgary (IISC) is a registered CRA Charitable and non-profit religious organization. IISC presently has three locations in the Calgary area: North East (NE) Musallah, Al-kahf Youth Center, and the Downtown Mosque.

Our NE location is the main center which offers Qur’an memorization and tajweed classes for all age groups. We aim to build and sustain a generation that establishes a strong relationship with the Qur’an. We also hold weekly halaqas (classes) covering personal development, focusing on religious education.

Marriage is an essential part of our life, and a healthy marriage leads to a healthy community. Our Imams perform Nikah - a marriage agreement and a contract between the husband and wife following the Qur’an and Sunnah. Our Imams support the community by providing mediation, conflict resolution, family counselling, and mentorship to assist in maintaining happy family relations.

IISC’s Al-Kahf Youth Center is a dedicated space for youth development. Our Imams and volunteers engage the youth and provide them with the religious education that is missing from the public education system. We also offer leadership development and community service within these programs.
