Security - Community Update

As salam 'alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuhu, My dear brothers and sisters of the Calgary Muslim community. These are indeed very trying times for the Ummah, especially after the driving rampage incident outside Finsbury Mosque in London. It is imperative that we do our due diligence in remaining safe. The IISC has placed CCTV cameras in the front and rear of the Masjid, and has hired security to be on site during peak hours. We would like to remind our sisters particularly to be cautious and not walk alone especially at night. All Muslims should be vigilant of anything suspicious taking place in or out of the masaajid. If you see anything suspicious please call the police to keep them informed and tell someone from the administration. It is better to be on the side of caution and be wrong than to allow an atrocity to take place. Allah is our ultimate supporter and helper, He is the one who is in the constant aid of the believers, and ultimately all of our trust is placed in Him. May Allah protect and bless you all, and accept all of our deeds in this month. Ameen. Navaid Aziz Director Islamic Information Society of Calgary [if !supportLineBreakNewLine] [endif]
