COVID-19/Community Update: Announcement of Juma (Friday prayers) Suspension
As salam 'alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
My dear brothers and sisters may Allah protect you, your families and our community. Ameen. We are sending out this update based upon the most recent recommendations by the Alberta Health Services. The situation is fluid so please keep checking back for further updates.
The IISC will no longer be providing Friday (Jumah) services at both of its locations, the North East and at the Ramada Hotel (Downtown). The Ramada hotel will not be available until further notice.
All activities are suspended until further notice. This includes Quran classes, youth activities, and halaqas, etc.
Those that are sick, have symptoms, have pre-existing conditions that impact their immune system, the elderly, or those that come into regular contact with the previous two categories are asked to refrain from coming to the masjid.
Please continue to practice good hygiene practices as outlined in our previous update.
These decisions were made in consultation with medical doctors, and leading scholars across the globe. In such circumstances all we can do is try our best and place our trust in Allah.
Say, "Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has destined for us. He is our Protector. So in Allah let the believers put their trust." (9:51)
May Allah protect us, our families, and our communities with good health, Iman, and Taqwa. Ameen.
Was salam 'alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuhu
