COVID-19 Community Update:
Important Announcement Regarding Juma and Daily Prayers
As salam 'alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuhu,
As you may have already heard, Alberta's Government announced more robust public health measures critical to protecting our healthcare system and saving lives. Previous measures also remain in effect following the health guidelines, including all attendees must wear a face mask, no sick person allowed at any time, and social distancing while attending the IISC.
Please note that the IISC is trying to keep its masajid open to fulfill the minimum requirements of establishing the obligation of Friday prayers during these challenging and difficult times. There is no way for the IISC to continue accommodating our community's needs while following the current guidelines to reduce the impacts of the pandemic. As a result of the new measures, effective at 12:01 am on Sunday, December 13, 2020, our congregational prayers will be impacted as follows:
The IISC NE location and the IISC Downtown location can accommodate a significantly reduced number of participants only in any single congregation.
After reaching the authorized capacity (number of people inside the facility), the doors will be closed.
COVID-19 Important Announcement: All doors will remain locked and open only by using the access key.
Instead of coming to the Masjid for Juma prayer, we advise everyone to perform the Dhuhr prayer at home.
Starting from April 2, 2021, the IISC NE location will only accommodate 2 Juma prayers at each location at 12:30 pm, 1:15 PM and 2:00 pm based on the limited capacity.
There will be ONSITE registration before Fajr prayer on Wednesdays at each location. If someone is not registered, they will not be allowed to participate in the Friday prayer.
We are not accepting any online, phone, or email registrations.
Allah says, which means:
"Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear" (2/286)
As always, we highly anticipate your cooperation and understanding. May Allah protect us, our families, and our communities with good health, Iman, and Taqwa. Ameen.
