About Islamic Information Society of Calgary
The Islamic Information Society of Calgary (IISC)® is a Registered Charitable and non-profit organization (#871722617 RR 0001) based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We have been serving the local Muslim community since 2001 and currently manage three prayer facilities and the Al-Khaf Youth Centre
Mission Statement
Promote Islam with evidence from the Quran and Sunnah to help educate about Islam factually and adequately to enable guidance to the straight path. Empower the Calgary community, especially our youth and women, with a proper understanding of Islam to become dynamic community members.
Our Vision
Empowering Muslims with knowledge and practical spirituality to be contributing members of the greater Calgary community & and participate in Dawah activities in Calgary for Muslims and non-Muslims focusing on spreading Islamic knowledge and strengthening brotherhood based on the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) according to the understanding of the salaf.
Objectives
Advance and teach the religious tenets, doctrines and observances associated with the Islamic faith
To preach the teachings of the Islamic faith and the religious tenets, doctrines and observances associated with Islam
Provide spiritual and educational resources to Muslims and non-Muslims - nationally and internationally
Establish facilities to be used for prayers, religious programs, workshops and Quran studies
To establish and maintain a complete public Islamic library, containing important books and resources in various fields of Islamic knowledge in multiple languages
To relieve the poverty of persons of low income in the community by providing food and other necessities
To operate in all respects as a charity according to the Income Tax Act (Canada) (the "Act") and to be guided in its operation by the requirements set out in the Act.
