As we celebrate unity, wisdom, and community strength, the 10th One Ummah Conference stands tall as a testament to the thriving Muslim community in Calgary, Alberta. Established in 2009 by the Islamic Information Society of Calgary (IISC), this annual event has blossomed into a beacon of educational enrichment and cultural celebration.

We want to express our deep appreciation for the incredible support from our community over the past conferences. As we commemorate the 10th One Ummah Conference, we remain steadfast in our commitment to tirelessly strive, ensuring our community experiences nothing short of exceptional events. We welcome you to become an integral part of our journey!

Before registering your child(ren) please note the following:

- The Children's Program will run from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.

- Your Child(ren) need to be you pick up promptly during the lunch break,  as no service will be provided.

- Your Child(ren) must be fully able to use the washroom by themselves.

- Dress your child(ren) in appropriate clothing so they're comfortable for play.

- Have everything labeled with their name(s), we are not responsible for lost items.

- A ticket purchase is mandatory for the Children's Program. If you have not done so already you will be able to purchase the ticket at the conference centre.

Please read the below waivers and consent - you will need to agree to them on the following page.

Waivers of Claim

I, hereby acknowledge that I registered my child(ren) to take part of the One Ummah Children's Program. I understand that the Children's Program will be responsible for the care of my child(ren) during the length of the conference, excluding the lunch break.

1) I acknowledge that there are certain risks associated with the service provided, and I agree to assume all such risks on behalf of myself and my child(ren).

2) My child(ren) will abide by the rules and regulations imposed on the participants of the Children's Program

3) The Children's Program coordinator or a delegated program coordinator may dismiss my child(ren) from the Children's Program for the lack of adherence to the overall expectations and objectives of the program. These objectives and expectations may include but are not limited to, displaying acceptable behavior towards all children, volunteers and staff.

4) While every effort and reasonable precautions will be made to ensure the safety of my child(ren), I will hold the Children's Program, One Ummah, IISC, its partners, employees or agents harmless from any claims, liability of any accident or injury that may occur arise out of my child participating in the Children's Program at One Ummah.

Consent

I, hereby, grant permission to  the Children's Program, One Ummah, IISC   to use my and/or my child(ren)’s photo, video recording or other items, from now on referred to as “Materials,” taken during the 2024 One Ummah Conference. I hereby release One Ummah, the IISC, its officers, directors, agents, contractors, employees, volunteers, and members from all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with any use of the “Materials,” including, without limitation, all claims for invasion of privacy, infringement of my right of publicity, defamation and any other personal and/or property rights. I acknowledge and agree that no sums will be due to me due to the use of the “Materials” or any rights therein.

I acknowledge that my child(ren)’s is/are under 18 years old and lacks the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements. Accordingly, I have read this Release and consent to my child(ren)’s inclusion in the “Materials” and will not contest the rights granted in this Release.
