What is Helping Hands?
Helping Hands is a dedicated IISC (Islamic Information Society of Calgary) program committed to assisting families facing hardship in Calgary. We strive to make a tangible difference in our community by channeling donations into vital support services.
What kind of support does Helping Hands offer?

Food hampers to ensure families have nutritious meals.

Gift cards (primarily from Superstore) for purchasing necessities.

Coverage of social worker expenses to facilitate professional support.

Assistance with other critical costs, such as temporary hotel stays and rent payments, on a case-by-case basis.
How does Helping Hands manage donations and expenses?
We maintain transparent and detailed financial records. We Track all contributions and distributions by month and year.
What timeframe does the helping hands financial data cover?
Our financial reporting spans from 2015 to the current year of 2025. This includes detailed monthly breakdowns for recent years and annual summaries for all years covered. As of May 9, 2025, Helping Hands has collected $934,312.19 in donations and distributed $907,062.60 to support families in need.
How many individuals and families has Helping Hands assisted?
To date, the Helping Hands program has proudly supported 8,416 families, positively impacting the lives of 30,419 people.
