IISC Boys Robotics Team
The FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) is a global robotics competition of about 7000 teams for students in grades 7-12. Teams design, build, and program robots to compete on a themed playing field. Developing STEM skills, teamwork, and problem-solving ability using industry-standard tools.
How the Competition Operates
Teams compete head-to-head, earning points based on their robot's performance. Between meets, teams have the opportunity to refine and improve their robots to enhance their chances in the next competition. Points are accumulated across multiple meets, and the highest-scoring teams, based on both technical performance and strategy, qualify for regional and national championships.
This Season’s Challenge
In the "Into the Deep" challenge, teams design, build, and program robots to navigate an underwater-themed field, completing tasks like resource collection, instrument deployment, and interacting with obstacles, developing an understanding of real-world issues. Robots operate in both autonomous and driver-controlled phases, requiring strategic planning and quick decision-making.
